As an organization of peace officers, our highest priority is to protect lives, property, and to make communities safer places to live, work, and raise our children.
Together, we are making a difference. Support the Illinois Sheriffs’ Association.
2023 Commemorated our 95th Anniversary of Continuous Service. We look forward with gratitude to another year supporting the Sheriffs in Illinois.
A hundred times a day I remind myself that my inner and outer life depend on the labors of others, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received.
– Albert Einstein
96 Years of Continuous Service
Since 1928, the Illinois Sheriffs’ Association (ISA) has been dedicated to improving public safety. Our primary mission is to assist our 102 County Sheriffs throughout the state with training, communication, and the necessary resources for them to serve local communities more efficiently. The Office of Sheriff is the longest continuously existing non-military law enforcement entity in history. Ninety-six years after our founding, we continue to make a difference to the lives of the Sheriffs we serve and Illinois Citizens.
In today’s complex society, there are rigorous demands and requirements for law enforcement. The ISA is dedicated to supporting the time-honored Office of Sheriff in Illinois by upholding each Sheriff’s rights to perform their sworn duty to serve and protect Illinois citizens. ISA promotes sound legislation to help our law enforcement officers and better serve the public.
The Illinois Sheriffs’ Association’s true power arises from the support of our Citizen Members. Thousands of individuals and businesses join forces, become honorary members to offer financial support so that we can continue our good work supporting Illinois Sheriffs and the communities they serve.
We understand that our youth are the key to the future. The ISA continues its long-term commitment to help our children prepare for the future through scholarships, drug awareness, and community involvement. Lifting Illinois youth up and keeping them safe are two of the best investments we can make as an organization!
ISA also serves as a vital information source for our Sheriffs. Streamline communications and continuity help our Sheriffs and deputies become more efficient by sharing local events and case studies. These efforts help others with the challenges and opportunities ahead.
We marked 2023 as a momentous anniversary and had a year-long celebration of 95 Years Protecting Our Communities with HONOR – SAFETY – SERVICE!
